Why I do I find it so hard to forgive and forget certain offenses? No matter how hard I try?

Because our Lightfamily is as advanced as they are, the deeper complexities of the dynamics of many concepts you may have thought you understood, are being revealed. Forgiveness is certainly more intricate than generally thought. The reason for this is that individuals consist of layers of subpersonalities that are all involved in experiencing the events of your life unfolding. Your adult may have understood through reasoning that no harm may have been intended, your nurturer may through compassionate understanding, embrace the offender, but the inner child may yet feel deeply wounded — in which case the offense cannot be forgotten. To answer your question: that is why your attempts to forgive someone, may be failing.
Helping the Inner Sage forgive
All you need are these: certainty of judgment in the present moment; action for the common good in the present moment; and an attitude of gratitude in the present moment for anything that comes your way.

As an example… action for the common good? Do have any idea how much time I waist contemplating the common good. There are so many layers to understanding and making peace with the common good. If “Life sends nothing but good”. Then why am I so obsessed with trying to understand what right action for the common good is?
