Why are so many parents finding that in order to avoid the grown up child from failing, they have to continue parenting longer than they’d like?
The Seer:
If a child is raised, believing him or herself to be a part of a privileged member of society, but is not taught that the price for such a privileged position is increased responsibility, he or she is continuously plagued by underperforming in fulfilling his or her duties.* A feeling of being a failure results and the parent has to step in to help perpetuate the illusion that was initiated during the child’s early childhood years, namely the illusion of being “special” by virtue of class or upbringing. This situation delays the maturation of adult children.

My parents through their religious beliefs actually did try to instill in me the notion that my privileged position means increased responsibility. As a child being an insider witness to what was really going on. It caused me to reject their beliefs and the idea of a prestigious responsibility/duty to the divine as a farce. To this day I have issues with priest classes believing themselves special in their devotion and increased responsibility to (so called) divine holy work. Rather, my own particular illusion of being special comes from not wanting anything to do with society and indulging in fantasies of outcasts, black sheep, and really bad eggs.
