I feel the reason many OOs are still quite ensnared and mired in external mirrors and human matrices is due to an unattended inner babe/child. When not tended to properly it wants to be seen and loved, which will make it gravitate to where it feels that love and attention is to be found. So, for many it is pop culture, mainstream and online media, social media, etc. —you know, "where it's at".
At some point the OOs have to boldly choose to detach from all that stuff. It might not be easy because there could be withdrawal symptoms, of loneliness and needing to know. And don't believe the program that says you "need to be informed". You don't. You'll be fine.

Thank you for saying this. It's a good reminder for myself with the social media/loneliness issue.
