The Infinite sends nothing but gifts: either gifts of hard learning or gifts of grace. One of the greatest gifts of the time of dark despair experienced in the Middle Ages, is that many ages of accumulated karma was being lived by those who had incarnated during that time. The presence of death was all around them and death is the great advisor. Thus much of the karma of man was cleared, the insights gained and global catastrophes averted. The vulnerable ones suffered most, but on an individual basis, when innocents suffer, many lifetimes of karma is removed. The ease and increase of the level of tolerance and justice arrived at today, was built on the suffering of the past.
I’ve been nerding on The Middle Ages for a while . I admire the art, the fashions, Chaucer, and the human ingenuity to redefine their society under plague conditions. Thank you for bringing this awareness forward. I feel it deeply. 🙏
