It hasn't stopped raining in Ireland for 6 weeks now! (though this is certainly not the first year this has happened). I feel so grateful that we are getting this instead of being scorched like a lot of the rest of the world.

Thirty years ago (according to memory), I was in my 8th and 9th months of pregnancy in July and August in Cancun, with no A/C. I had crazy dreams in which I would just melt away. I distinctly recall getting the message not to resist the heat and let it pass through; I have practiced it ever since. My daughter turns 30 on September 2.

I have recalled Almine's advice to not resist the weather as good advice this summer as I am in an area experiencing 110 F and above temperatures and no air conditioning in my shelter. It is only her advice that has seen me through as "usually" I do not do well in heat. It reminds me also of sweat lodges where I also learned it was wisest not to steel myself against it but to relax.

Thankyou Almine, Jaylene you look exquisitely beautiful , just stunning 💕

Thank you for this timely revisit to such good advice relating to self regulation. As a bit of a ‘boy' I have so far personally imagined myself with my body's vascular, or even better, molecular structures acting as a car radiator, with the thousands of delicate ‘fins' and ‘gaps' as temperature just passes through it all, felt momentarily until it reaches its equilibrium between "hot" and / or "cold" back to the neutral / optimal operating temperature. It has worked well thinking of the more extreme temperatures passing right through me 🙏 The only time I have had trouble doing this ironically is whilst driving the car in the heat.

Very creative! 😊
