The Inner Child Knows but Has Been Ignored

Nothing can be healed when its heart is broken through being unheard and misunderstood. The inner child knows, but has been ignored. Its rich imagery, like the fragrance of the rose, unnoticed.

Strictures and rules self-imposed have boxed it in. It used to have playmates, elves and fairies, but the other parts of the psyche denied their existence, though the child held the key of deep magic. Thinking that it could not believe its own experience, the child lost its magical playmates of the mystical realms.

Alone and abandoned, boxed in by rules, the child is preventing the dream cycles^† from healing. The dream cycles 19-24 represent the inner child. The dream cycles 13-18 represent the inner elder. The dream cycles 1-6 are the inner nurturer and 7-12 are the inner warrior.

The inner elder must translate the child’s non-verbal communications, which it relays to the inner warrior. The inner nurturer must ensure that (1) the inner child is fully heard, and (2) that the child has a sanctuary in which to play with the mystical kingdoms and express through art. These cycles of the child are represented by the Hidden Planets 7-12.^§
