A Discussion of Reality by The Seer (Part 2)
Reality as an expression (b), has a very important insight to give us:â€
One can only understand, and therefore express, what is already present within.
I have frequently said that the potter cannot make pots that are greater than him or herself. To make greater pots, the potter's depth of self-understanding must first increase — an important reason why the Infinite allows the folly of its creations to occur. There are two ways of enlarging the understanding of oneself:
- By pushing one's own experience beyond previously held comfort zones
- By observing the behavior of others (each individuation has a unique perspective and observing others provides us with many perspectives).
In other words: one understands oneself more, by seeing what one is not. Which means that even in the backwards mirroring (that which we're not) there is value.
All life is valuable, and the life of the fool is as valuable as the life of a saint in teaching us that which we are not, so that we may better understand that which we are.
