There is often a family member in a household that pouts. Pouting is a disempowered person’s way of being heard.

• Deal with the matter by creating a safe place and setting aside a time for that particular family member to confidentially share their thoughts. Have the maturity to just listen without criticizing or trying to fix their point of view.
• Allow each family member the right to make their own mistakes as long as their actions do not encroach on the well-being of others. Acknowledge when they’re right and allow them the right to be wrong.
