The Seer:
Innocence is a much misunderstood concept. It does not mean avoidance.
There has been a war young men were required to participate in, in almost every generation. Does that mean that the gruesome sights they have seen have robbed them of their innocence for generations? Innocence has to be able to endure whatever the world flings at it.
For innocence to be an enduring companion, it has to be better understood:
- Innocence means focusing on what is your next step to take; what is your next challenge to meet, and what is your next service to life. That means to not let your focus deviate from what's before you; to pay attention only to what is yours to do.
- To live in innocence is to start each moment anew with a fresh perspective and a new willingness to be amazed and to learn. No matter how gruesome the sights of the last moment have been, innocence shakes it off to focus with appreciative attention on the moment. This type of innocence builds inner strength.
Some Observations
If we allow the inner child to dictate our life's choices, it creates a self-centered individual.
All subpersonalities should have equal value and consideration. The inner child needs to learn that the other personalities will keep it safe no matter what, because that's their role.
It is through expressing the inner warrior 's strength, the inner sage's wisdom and the inner nurturer's guidance, that the inner child learns that it is a participating member of an inner family; that it's not alone in fending for itself. The result of realizing this is inner strength.
