This change was apparently due to increased industrial expansion and nuclear pollution that threatened to irrevocably disrupt the natural world and the species it supports. Can you explain what role the kingdom of the Fauns play in healing and supporting nature?

For thousands of years armies have clashed at battle sites, leaving the bloodshed caused by these traumatic events in the soil and tearing the etheric body of the planet from the anguish of the victims who died there.
The Fauns' mission on Earth has been to heal these etheric tears and clear the distorted frequencies caused by the intent to kill and the acute terror of battle still lingering as psychic impressions on these war-torn areas. They heal and restore nature through their music and dance.

They are regarded as shy because they avoid contact with other races in order to prevent other influences from changing the millennia old songs and pan flute music that contain their magic.
