The Seer:
There is a tendency to confuse mystics and sorcerers (as the word is used by Castaneda's students) interchangeably. To speak with power and conviction, you need to be exact with the meaning of your words. Don't throw words together and hope one or the other applies. If you don't know the exact meaning of your words, how will others know what you really mean?
As I have explained in previous teachings, mysticism and magic (also called sorcery) are two different tools in uncovering or applying truth.
Mysticism is the gaining of insight to harness power. It is the passive aspect of mastery. Sorcery is the application of power to influence the fluid unfolding of the Eternal Journey. It is the proactive component of mastery. To call yourself either a mystic or a sorcerer, is to imply that you've become trapped by a label into being overpolarized in either the passive or proactive component of mastery.
