The Seer’s Daughter

February 28, 2025 by Jaylene Manitopyes 28 Comments

Do children mirror to parents what to regret?
Those things they haven’t taught their children yet?
Growing up I was not shown how to get along
In a world where I did not belong

My mother regrets that I don’t know more
Of many things that life has in store
She lived in her own reality
Where life is kind and free from brutality

How could she teach me what she could not see?
She saw with the eyes of a child, just like me
Together we would watch the clouds in the sky
Or see the twinkling lights of fairies flying by.

She cried with joy when I came to stay
I’ve been showered with love since that day
She made it clear from that day on
That I am exactly where I belong.
