Anon:
I have a question which has presented itself to me through many years of experience. Throughout the relationships of my life, at times I feel like I lack genuine compassion towards others and what they are going through and I’ve never quite understood it.
The Seer:
Let’s look at the deeper meaning of “genuine compassion” by examining what it is and what it is not:
- Because of the correlation between available energy and consciousness, masters place particular emphases on learning to live in a way that conserves energy.
- It is futile (a waste of energy) to try to understand the thoughts and feelings of another. Each person is a consciousness as vast as the cosmos, superimposed over all that is. That is not something that can be understood… neither about yourself, nor about another.
Seek not to be understood, but seek only the clarity to differentiate between an impetus that drives your actions from externally imposed social conditioning, or from the authentic inspiration of your heart.
- A master who lives according to a more evolved reality, does not indulge the folly of others who seek the sympathy of others, because they fail to trust in the perfection of reality unfolding through their lives.
To indulge the folly of others is not compassionate, it is disrespectful.
- Because master’s way of showing and feeling love evolves as they do, (life is a dynamic process of self-creation, not a stagnant pond of identity) love changes from the ‘desire to include’, to an experience of compassionate understanding that the master has difficulty recognizing as love and it therefore feels as though he or she has lost the ability to “love”.
- Compassionate understanding, does not try to understand what the other is feeling or thinking, but tries to understand what the lesson, the gift and the insight is that the circumstances are delivering to all involved.
- When two individuals interact, each brings a unique understanding to the events. One cannot understand what a respective event means to someone else, because one can only understand what is inherent within oneself.
